Red Pine (Pinus resinosa) Rapid growth rate, 10 to 15 inches per year. Grows to mature height of 75 feet.  Sandy soils, dry to moist soil drainage, full sunlight to partial shade.

White Pine (Pinus strobes) Rapid growth rate, 10 to 15 inches per year. Grows to mature height of 80 plus feet.  Sandy, loam and clay soils, tolerates soil from dry to moist - wet soils. Grows full sunlight to partial shade.

Blue Spruce (Picea pungens) Slow growth rate, 0 to 8 inches per year. Grows to mature height of 100 plus feet.  Loam and clay soils, tolerates soils from dry to moist - wet soils. Grows full sunlight to partial shade.
